Environment

At CEP Claddings green is one of our favourite colours - but this isn’t the only reason we want to go green. We realise the important part we play in protecting our environment for future generations, which is why we are doing everything we can to minimise our carbon footprint. Not only in the manufacture of our products and the sourcing of raw materials, but also in their application and long term impact.

Products

We’re a friendly bunch and we like to be friendly to the environment too. All our cladding is long lasting and low maintenance, no painting is required and no harsh chemicals needed to clean it, even for removing graffiti. For more details on the individual specification of our cladding visit the Products page.

Materials

We get our raw materials from sustainable sources wherever possible. Take for example Colorpan our weatherboarding system, which comprises of a wooden fibre core with a weather resistant surface coat. The core is manufactured from waste wood thinnings from professionally managed, sustainable forests. Our Petrarch panels are composed of over 50% reconstituted natural stone, providing a cost effective alternative which promotes sustainability. Want to know more? Visit our Products page or get in touch.

Energy Saving

Energy saving is one of the easiest ways to reduce your carbon emissions and using our cladding can help. Older buildings can be renovated and improved, saving on the energy, waste and cost of demolition and re- building. Most of our claddings are applied as a rainscreen, providing opportunity to add almost unlimited insulation to the exterior façade of both new build and refurbishment projects, to assist with the energy efficient running of buildings.

Waste Management

Our Petrarch panels can be ordered cut to size at the factory, reducing cuts and waste at the construction site. When packing the panels for transport to the site, we use the minimum of packaging materials, which consist of recycled cardboard and wood for a pallet base. The wood materials are also common construction materials that are often re-used at the job site or by others.

Sustainability

While natural materials at first appear more ‘eco friendly’, our cladding products can prove to have better environmental credentials over time. While natural stone or wood requires regular maintenance, cleaning, treatments and replacing on a more regular basis, our cladding products are long lasting and hardwearing, weatherproof and won’t need painting or treating. Less chemicals, less machinery required, less use of natural resources... oh and it can also save money too!

Recycling

We try to recycle and re-use wherever possible; even the sheets of paper which protect our Petrarch cladding panels during processing are recycled by SITA UK. ‘Waste not, want not’ as our mothers used to say (and they knew a thing or two) so we use the cladding off-cuts from manufacture as our cladding sample squares. We want to keep all waste to a minimum and our talented design and estimating personnel are there to meet your specification requirements, optimise panel usage and minimise waste.
